Congress: 45th Annual Meeting of EBMT, March 2019
“My goodness, isn’t Frankfurt just fantastic?” – “It’s these kind of statements that I hear from participants of international conferences that we have organised in Frankfurt. Frankfurt scores big with its central location, its international airport, its cosmopolitan flair, the short distances and excellent recreational opportunities, its superb cultural and culinary offerings and so much more. What’s more, Frankfurt is home to numerous first-class hotels of all price categories, while also offering a vast assortment of congress and conference venues that includes everything from the city’s extensive fairgrounds to small function rooms for confidential meetings. Put all this together and you are guaranteed a successful event and satisfied participants.”

Congress: 42. Sportärztekongress 2011, October 2011
“Sport, medicine, preventive measures and the mindful care of one’s own body are the main components for leading a healthy life. They are also the cornerstones that I represent, both nationally and internationally, as the head of the Department of Sports Medicine at the Goethe University of Frankfurt. We are proud to have brought the German Sports Physicians’ Congress to the Westend Campus, thereby promoting new aspects of sports medicine in both theory and practice and, as a result, meeting the manifold challenges presented by demographic change. By collaborating with the Frankfurt Convention Bureau, whose innovative ideas facilitate my work as a Frankfurt Congress Ambassador, I look forward to bringing further congresses to the cosmopolitan city of Frankfurt.”
Congress: European Chemistry Partnering, Februar 2024 & before
"Chemistry makes the world go round! Some 97 percent of our products comprise a chemical process step. Today, the human race is healthier than ever before, and as a result, we are becoming older and older. Our continued progress is the result of our commitment to chemistry, despite the fact that it surely was not everyone’s favourite subject at school. To ensure that the current trend remains unbroken, we require innovation. The best way to achieve this goal is to promote a form of “speed-dating” for creative minds. The result? An event platform named the European Chemistry Partnering. Naturally, my adopted hometown – the chemistry city of Frankfurt – was chosen to host this event. It is, after all, an excellent hub for both people and products."
Congress: 40th International Congress of Physiological Sciences, September 2025
"Frankfurt is a global metropolis conveniently situated in the heart of Europe. Colourfully diversified and highly attractive, it is also easy to reach from literally all around the world. The city is the ideal location for international congresses or trade shows."
Congress: DOSB Mitgliederversammlung, December 2025 (before in 2019 & 2023)
"Frankfurt is the sports capital of Germany; in addition to the DOSB, more than 20 of Germany's top sports organisations and associations are based here. In this respect, I am delighted to be working as a congress ambassador for the city of Frankfurt as a central and attractive location, and not just for sport!"
"Frankfurt is known far beyond its city limits, especially as a city of finance. Many people have not realised that Frankfurt also has an excellent reputation as a leading research and science centre. Thanks to its central location, its proximity to one of the world’s largest international airports and its excellent roads and rail network, the city is perfectly suited to host regional, national and international conferences and congresses of every size and variety. Aside from the outstanding conference options, visitors of Frankfurt also have available to them a superb cultural and recreational programme, ensuring that congress participants have plenty of reason to return to Frankfurt at other times as well. The Frankfurt Convention Bureau and the Frankfurt Fair & Exhibition Centre (Messe Frankfurt) will of course be on hand to help congress organisers with the planning and performance of their events wherever necessary."
"As a representative of the local creative industry, I am proud to be a Frankfurt Congress Ambassador. At the moment, not nearly enough people know that Frankfurt Rhine-Main has much more inspiration and inventiveness to offer than the glass façades of its skyscrapers might suggest."
Institute of General Practice, Goethe University Frankfurt
Congress: 50. Kongress für Allgemeinmedizin und Familienmedizin, September 2016
"Frankfurt is Germany’s most international city. It is not only an important traffic and transport hub situated in the heart of Europe, but also a place of encounters, the ideal location for congresses and conferences of every size and variety. This opinion was shared by the participants of the 50th anniversary congress of DEGAM, the German College of General Practitioners and Family Physicians. From the festive opening event at St Paul’s Church and the cruise ship luncheon to the evening gala in Sachsenhausen, Frankfurt offered our delegates a truly spectacular setting."
Institute of Occupational, Social and Environmental Medicine, University Hospital Frankfurt, Goethe University
"Frankfurt is Germany’s leading centre of trade and commerce, and also, in my opinion, its secret capital. Frankfurt’s global appeal as a congress and conference destination is a direct result of its central location in the heart of Europe and its many excellent offers, which are in turn the result of the city’s long tradition in hosting large-scale trade fairs like the International Motor Show (IAA). In short, when it comes to hosting congresses in Germany, there’s no better place than Frankfurt!"
Central Institute for Laboratory Medicine, Microbiology and Hospital Hygiene, Krankenhaus Nordwest
Congress: Jahrestagung der Interdisziplinären Gruppe für Labormedizin & Durchflusszytometrie, March 2018
"The subject of hygiene – especially hospital hygiene – is a topic that is often heatedly discussed, and rightly so. As a laboratory medicine specialist, microbiologist and hygienist for the Hospital Foundation zum Heiligen Geist, I am in charge of the Central Institute of Laboratory Medicine and Microbiology as well as the area of hospital hygiene. I am also responsible for, amongst other things, the implementation of modern concepts for infection prevention and the reduction of the use of antibiotics with the aim of achieving highest possible patient safety. At the 1st Rhine-Main Hygiene Convention, held at Frankfurt University’s Campus Westend, hygiene experts from the entire region will be sharing information and experiences concerning the current research status of these very delicate issues. Our collaboration with the Frankfurt Convention Bureau in organising this event has been a stroke of good fortune. I am therefore more than happy to represent the City of Frankfurt as one of their official Congress Ambassadors."

"Since having been appointed director of the Trauma, Hand and Reconstructive Surgery Unit of the Frankfurt University Hospital, Frankfurt am Main has never ceased to amaze me. Thanks to the constructive collaboration with the Frankfurt Fair & Exhibition Centre (Messe Frankfurt) and a number of municipal institutions, I have been able to help attract and carry out a number of successful, science-themed events here in Frankfurt. The city’s convenient location is ideal for science-related conferences, a fact that has not gone unnoticed both nationally and internationally. Conference participants and congress delegates are continuously amazed by the cultural diversity of Frankfurt, not to mention its many other offers. I should conclude by saying that the Frankfurt Convention Bureau and Messe Frankfurt have been most helpful in assisting me in my efforts."
Department of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology, Kerckhoff Clinic
Congress: 44. Deutscher Rheumatologenkongress, September 2016
"As vice president of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Rheumatologie e.V. (DGRh) and director of the department of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology, Kerckhoff Clinic in Bad Nauheim, I am regularly involved in organising national and international medical conventions, sometimes with more than 15,000 participants. From this experience, I can safely say that Frankfurt is in the Champions League of international congress destinations.
The support provided by the well coordinated team of the City of Frankfurt and Messe Frankfurt shows the professionalism of the partners, as could be seen to great effect when the Rheumatology Congress was held in Frankfurt in 2016. As well as Frankfurt’s unrivalled location in the centre of Europe with its own major airport, its locational advantages include the motorway junction and Europe-wide Intercity Express hub."
Sana Klinikum Offenbach, Spinal Orthopaedics and Reconstructive Orthopaedics
Congresses: 8. Deutscher Wirbelsäulenkongress der Deutschen Wirbelsäulengesellschaft, December 2013
"In 2015, the 10th annual congress of the German Spine Society was held in Frankfurt under my patronage. As a Frankfurt native and the head of the Department of Spinal Disorders at the Orthopaedic University Clinic of Friedrichsheim, I was naturally very pleased that I was able to organise this anniversary event. The congress has grown greatly in popularity in recent years, so much so that we in fact were able to welcome over 2,300 participants representing the fields of clinical medicine, medical research and the medical industry in general. As a Frankfurt Congress Ambassador, I am happy to have been included in this exclusive group of highly experienced professionals. I am equally happy to know that the close co-operation with the City of Frankfurt, Messe Frankfurt and the Frankfurt Chamber of Commerce was instrumental in bringing this congress to Frankfurt."
Clinic of Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery, Agaplesion Markus Krankenhaus
Congress: 44. Deutscher Rheumatologenkongress, September 2016
"In love with Frankfurt! This city, with its highly diversified range of cultural, recreational and sporting offers as well as its many, vast green spaces, convinces on all fronts. Frankfurt is a city that offers so much more than one would think or expect. Personally, I am very proud to have been part of the co-operation of orthopaedic, internal and paediatric-rheumatologic associations that helped to organise the internationally significant Congress of the German Society for Rheumatology here in Frankfurt. This congress, which also includes patients’ associations, presents new aspects of diagnostics and therapy aimed at improving the treatment of systemic inflammatory diseases. I am happy to say that the staff of the Frankfurt Convention Bureau assisted us in exemplary fashion. It was therefore an easy decision to help promote our cosmopolitan city as an official Frankfurt Congress Ambassador."
Clinic of Oral, Maxillofacial and Plastic Surgery, Frankfurt University Hospital, Goethe University
Congress: 69. Kongress der Dt. Gesellschaft für Mund-, Kiefer- und Gesichtschirurgie, June 2019
"The Clinic for Oral and Facial Plastic Surgery at the Frankfurt University Hospital is one of the largest and most research-intensive oral and facial surgery clinics in all of Germany. The clinic enjoys an excellent reputation in the fields of research, instruction and medical care, both at home and abroad. Many of my overseas colleagues come here for research, residency and training purposes, not to mention the regularly held congresses and conferences. Frankfurt Airport helps all of them get here quickly and easily, regardless of where they come from. "

Congress: 42. Jahrestagung der Gesellschaft für Neonatologie und Pädiatrische Intensivmedizin, June 2016
“The 42nd annual conference of the Society of Neonatology and Paediatric Intensive Care is scheduled to take place in Frankfurt from 02nd to 04th June 2016. Neonatology, a hybrid term blending Greek and Latin, is the study of disease and illnesses amongst newborns. Premature infants in particular require the care of specially trained doctors and nurses. We expect approximately 1,500 participants to take part in this year’s conference, these professionals coming from Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Benelux, Scandinavia and the United States. This year marks the third time that Frankfurt is hosting our conference. My colleagues are always happy to come to Frankfurt; not only because it is easy to reach from all across the globe, but also because of the special atmosphere that Frankfurt exudes, being a place that is unique and agreeable to all.”
Clinic for Children and Youth Medicine, Klinikum Frankfurt Höchst GmbH
Congress: 42. Jahrestagung der Gesellschaft für Neonatologie und Pädiatrische Intensivmedizin, June 2016
"Despite its modern skyline, Frankfurt has to this day remained a city with much local flavour, many attractive residential areas and countless recreational opportunities. I’ve always liked the way people interact here in Frankfurt, openly and genuinely, regardless of their origins. Perhaps this is the result of the centuries of international trade that has taken place here. Business, higher education and research come together harmoniously in the Main metropolis, a place that is centrally situated and easily accessible, thereby offering excellent preconditions for conferences of all kinds."
Obesity Surgery and Metabolic Surgery, Sana Klinikum Offenbach GmbH
Congress: 14th Frankfurter Meeting, November 2024
"Frankfurt is a cosmopolitan city and a leading location in terms of medical innovation, research and development. Frankfurt is also at the beginning of a therapy for a worldwide pandemic: Adiposis, more commonly known as obesity, is a chronic inflammatory disease that affects some 30% of Germany's population. The struggle for actual recognition of the disease -- not to mention bringing an end to its stigmatisation -- has been behind my endeavours to promote scientific exchange and interdisciplinary networking in Frankfurt for more than 20 years. With its many offers, Frankfurt provides myriad opportunities for exchange, further education and debate, not only in the field of healthcare and medicine, but also on a socio-political level. The "Frankfurt Meeting on Obesity Therapy" was established to this end in 1999 and has since then become internationally renowned for its work in this important field.
As a woman active in medicine, promoting the further recognition of women in society and medicine is of similar importance to me. Together with my female colleagues from Frankfurt's many clinics, we support women and, at the same time, "live" equal rights. As such, all of the events we organise together with our association, named "Die Chirurginnen" (Women Surgeons), are characterised by real-life gender equality."
